Get answers to your questions

The laser method is a relatively new technology, but it is already gaining ground in several Danish and international industries. And it is most likely only the tip of the iceberg.

However, there are often a lot of questions associated with laser technology, and we have tried to answer some of the most frequently asked ones here.

Frequently asked questions

How do I finance a laser machine?

At LASR, we offer flexible rental agreements, either on a daily, weekly, or monthly basis, so you can make the most out of your rental period and determine if your company should invest in laser technology. After the rental period ends, we offer the option to purchase the laser machine within 30 days and have the rent "credited" or given as a discount.

If you are interested in investing in a laser machine, we collaborate with several financing partners where it is possible to finance the machines for up to 72 months (indicative prices can be provided). Contact us if you would like to learn more about either renting or financing our machines.

What is my warranty?

Warranty according to Danish law.

Is everyone allowed to use a laser machine?

Everyone is allowed to use the machine itself, but LASR is the only Danish company that sells this type of machine and specializes in laser technology. One of our LASR ambassadors will always come out to train the company's employees in using the machine correctly. In addition, a safety officer is always selected in the workplace, who is then responsible for maintaining the safety and standards associated with the machine.

Is the technology approved in Denmark?

All necessary security approvals have been implemented in the LASR machine, which has been adapted and approved for the Danish market with its very high security requirements. This is more technically speaking about a class 4 laser, which among other things means that a number of software solutions have been developed to obtain the necessary approvals.

What is the lifespan of a laser machine?

A laser has 100,000 burning hours, equivalent to 8 daily working hours for 42.5 years or 11 years constantly in use. Therefore, the machine is a life investment that can follow you and your company for many years.

What does it take to maintain the machine?

A laser machine requires minimal maintenance, as the machine itself is extremely durable and has very few wearing parts. There is a glass in front of the handle that can be replaced over time, depending on the amount of particles that come into contact with it. In addition, a service check is recommended twice a year, where the machine is inspected by a professional technician.

Is laser technology dangerous?

All of our laser machines are in laser class 4, which is one of the most powerful types of laser. Therefore, it is important to take the right precautions and safety measures when using it, such as using specially approved glasses, as the laser is extremely dangerous for the eyes. However, thorough training in safety is provided upon purchase of one of our lasers.

When looking at laser types and their safety, it is very important to understand the following:

  • If the laser equipment is not CE marked, there is no guarantee that it complies with European legislation. The CE mark is the manufacturer's declaration that the product meets the requirements of directives and standards. CE marking is not a certification or approval, but a mark that indicates compliance with certain safety, health, and environmental requirements within the relevant product area.
  • If a Danish importer sells Chinese CE marked equipment, the importer assumes responsibility for ensuring that the equipment complies with applicable European legislation. This means that the importer must CE mark it and ensure, for example, that a Danish manual is included with the equipment.
  • In the event of a work accident, insurance will not cover it, and a possible compensation claim will be directed at the owner of the equipment or the importer of the equipment, who automatically assumes responsibility for the labeling of the product when reselling equipment from China (and all other countries).
  • 90% of all laser injuries occur in the eyes. Laser class 4 is so powerful that irreversible damage to the eyes can occur in under 0.1 seconds, resulting in blindness for the person.

Our best advice is therefore: If there is no Danish manual for the equipment, it is not legal to use it in Denmark!

All LASR laser machines are CE marked and comply with European legislation. If you have any questions about safety, etc., please feel free to contact our experts in the field.

How do I ensure my laser is legal?

The best way to ensure that your laser technology complies with European and Danish legislation is to check for the CE marking.

If the laser equipment is not CE marked, there is no guarantee that it complies with European legislation. The CE marking is the manufacturer's declaration that the product meets the requirements of directives and standards.

The CE marking is not a certification or approval, but a mark indicating compliance with certain requirements for safety, health, and the environment within the specific product area.

Our best advice is therefore: If there is no Danish manual for the equipment, it is not legal to use it in Denmark!

All LASR laser machines are CE marked and comply with European legislation. If you have any questions about safety, etc., you are always welcome to contact our experts in the field.

Who is liable if a work injury occurs when using the laser?

The insurance requires that Danish law is fulfilled, see point 2. This means that the insurance does not cover if the end user or distributor does not meet the CE approval criteria according to Danish legislation.

The company that has purchased the production equipment will therefore have to pay if the insurance does not cover and the distributor does not meet the criteria.

Permanent damage can include blindness, but what does the law say?

  • Class-4 lasers require properly specified goggles and welding glasses to protect the eyes.
  • The machine must be equipped with a key switch and emergency stop.
  • The machine is subject to Danish CE approval, which is based on a risk analysis and requirements for components used.
  • The risk analysis is the basis for a Danish user manual and instructions for use.

LASR has Danish manufacturer status, which means that Danish legislation is 100% complied with, and we are your guarantee for peace of mind when investing in laser equipment. We always provide thorough instruction based on a Danish manual and guide end users on how to set up a production cell to conduct a mandatory workplace assessment.
